Emmet County board approves routine claims, accepts resignation and appoints new conservation board member, approves Elks Lodge liquor license

Financial approvals included payroll and benefits totals reported by staff (March pay period figures and county shares for IPERS, FICA/SS, Medicare and insurance) and a vendor claims list with a reported total of $598,731.97. The claims list included a range of vendors and amounts; among larger line items on the claims list were Alpha Wireless Communications ($150,182.00 for a Motorola console project), Christensen Construction Company ($141,323.44 for ARPA courthouse renovation work), and Pro Cooperative diesel purchases ($31,195.54). The board approved the April monthly claims and the April drainage claims on unanimous votes (motions recorded in the minutes).
In personnel business, the board accepted the resignation of Phyllis McKean from the Emmet County Conservation Board; McKean had served 15 years on the board. The board then appointed Gary Myers to the Conservation Board. Todd Glasnapp moved to accept the resignation (seconded by Tim Schumacher); Jeff Quastad moved the appointment of Gary Myers (seconded by John Pluth). Both motions passed unanimously.
The board also approved an Iowa Alcoholic Beverage License for the Elks Lodge (motion by Tim Schumacher, second by Todd Glasnapp; all ayes).
The meeting concluded after the board reviewed several routine reports and adjourned at 9:48 a.m.
