The Anamosa City Council on July 14 reviewed an annexation application submitted by Dave and Erin Jenkins for Parcel 2008-53 (described as NE NW EXC Parcel 2004-66) but did not vote on the request.
City Administrator Jeremiah Hoyt told the council there was a prior agreement with the previous property owner indicating the City would pay for the tee connection to the sewer line, but Hoyt described that agreement as vague. Council members discussed the ownership of responsibilities, potential options for the property owner and the city, and next steps. No member made a motion to annex or adopt a pre-annexation agreement during the meeting, and the council left the matter for further review.
The public hearing on the application was opened at 6:24 P.M. and closed with no public comment recorded. The minutes show the council sought clarification about the earlier agreement’s terms before proceeding; staff will return with additional information for future action.
