Sakmar said the estimated project cost is approximately $1,256,600 and that multiple funding sources will support the work, including DDA funds, SPLOST, and City general funds. He presented the design board created by Sogo, the project's architectural firm.
The board did not take a separate vote on the renovation at the DDA meeting; Sakmar reported the council action during his update. The minutes note that the DDA will continue to monitor the project as design and funding details are finalized.
Owen said the theater experienced cancellations during January because a winter storm affected two weekends, and he described overall attendance figures as strong. No construction start date was provided at the meeting; Sakmar said funding sources and the awarded bid are in place.
