Commissioner Steve Davis thanked employees, saying the award reflected their hard work and commitment.
The announcement came during a full morning of training for roughly 124 county directors, elected officials, supervisors, managers and staff. Porter highlighted the county's sustained survey participation as a driver of the recognition and thanked attendees for their engagement.
In closing business at the end of the session, Commissioner Jeff Fix moved and Commissioner David Levacy seconded a motion to approve the April 7, 2026 Leadership Conference minutes. The board recorded the vote as: yes ' Jeff Fix, yes ' David Levacy, yes ' Steve Davis; no votes and abstentions were not recorded. The motion was approved and noted as "approved on April 14, 2026" in the minutes.
The conference and award recognition did not include any formal policy changes; county leaders used the occasion to emphasize training and employee development and to thank presenters and staff for their participation.
