Forest Park City Council unanimously approved three appointments and administered the oath of office to the new commissioners April 20.
Council member Harrison moved to appoint Terry Smith to the Civil Service Commission for a term expiring Nov. 30, 2027; the motion was seconded and carried 7–0. Harrison then moved to appoint Wendell Turnage to the Beautification Commission for a term expiring Nov. 30, 2029, and Teresa Allen to the Beautification Commission for the same term; both motions were seconded and carried 7–0.
After the votes, the mayor brought the appointees forward and administered the oath of office. Council members and the mayor thanked the new and continuing commissioners for volunteering to serve the city.
The appointments were taken up early in the agenda after the council voted to amend the order of business. No objections were raised during the motions and votes were recorded as unanimous.
