Clayton councilmembers recap community events; meeting adjourned in memory of library founder

Councilmember Cloven thanked the Special Events Committee and Sandy Johnson for the July 4 parade and said they had met with community members.
Councilmember Wan reported attending Budget and Audit Committee meetings, the Cintra Ad Hoc Committee and sessions related to the City Manager recruitment.
Councilmember Tillman listed a series of recent meetings and events—including Clayton Pride, the League of California Cities’ policy committee and community festivals—and said they would share the Clayton Firewise Oakhurst assessment. Tillman also noted that the downtown business "Chick Boss" had reopened.
Vice Mayor Trupiano said they had attended meetings for the Clayton Library Foundation, the East Contra Costa Conservancy and several city-sponsored special events, and that they had participated in the July 4 parade.
Mayor Diaz reported attending regional conferences and community events and announced that National Night Out with the Clayton Police Department will be held Aug. 6, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.
On a call by Mayor Diaz, the City Council adjourned its meeting at 8:45 p.m. in memory of Clayton Library Foundation founder Jeanne Boyd. The minutes note that they set forth all actions taken by the council, though not necessarily in chronological sequence.
