Bolingbrook honors Davion Thompson after Chicago Sun-Times names him 2025 Player of the Year

Mayor Mary S. Alexander-Basta recognized Bolingbrook High School sophomore Davion Thompson at the March 11 meeting after he was named the Chicago Sun-Times' 2025 Player of the Year, the minutes note. Thompson received a commemorative basketball signed by the Village Board and department heads and a framed BPD team jersey presented by Police Chief Michael Rompa and his Student Resource team.
School officials present included Coach Trey Brost, Principal Pascavage and WSD Superintendent Keith Woods; Coach Brost, Principal Pascavage and Superintendent Woods offered remarks acknowledging Thompson's achievement. The mayor read the varsity roster and noted that Thompson was the first sophomore in 67 years to receive the Sun-Times honor.
The board's recognition placed the achievement on the public record and included family and school representatives in the chamber. No formal action was required or taken by the board on this item.
