Bolingbrook trustees approve $2.84 million in payables, lease holiday displays and amend personnel benefits

The Village of Bolingbrook Mayor and Board of Trustees on March 11 approved two payables listings totaling $2,837,764.76, adopted a resolution to lease holiday decorative pieces for the 2025–2026 season, and passed an ordinance that narrows certain Department Director benefits.
The board approved the payables after Trustee Jose Quintero moved and Trustee Troy J. Doris seconded the measure; a roll-call vote recorded six yeas and the motion carried. The payables were recorded as Bill Listing A: $869,267.57 and Bill Listing B: $1,968,497.19 for a combined total of $2,837,764.76. Copies of the bill listings were made available in the Finance Department, the Clerk's Office, and on the Village website.
On a separate vote, the trustees adopted Resolution 25R-010, authorizing the lease of 19 unique decorative pieces from Artistic Holiday Designs for the 2025–2026 winter season. The vendor will provide setup, maintenance, removal and storage services from November through January; the total cost is not to exceed $60,000. Trustee Michael T. Lawler moved the resolution and Trustee Jean M. Kelly seconded; roll call recorded six yeas and the motion carried.
The board also passed Ordinance 25-004, amending Chapter 7, Section 7.39 of the Village Personnel Manual to clarify that certain Department Director benefits are not available to directors who were hired or promoted from within after December 13, 2022. Trustee Michael T. Lawler moved the ordinance and Trustee Troy J. Doris seconded; roll call recorded six yeas and the ordinance passed.

Finance staff also reported recent tax receipt figures: December 2024 state income tax of $1,103,533.45 (a 1.1% decrease from a year earlier), November 2024 sales tax of $3,722,595.03 (down 2.8%), and December 2024 motor fuel tax of $277,583.91 (down 3.8%).
The board took no executive session and adjourned at 8:16 p.m.
