ROCORI activities director previews spring sports; VEX team cleared for World Championship trip

On robotics, staff and coaches told the board the district’s high‑school VEX robotics team qualified for the World Championship in St. Louis. The board approved a field trip request to attend the World Championship, and board members asked that the students bring back a report and, if possible, display trophies at a future meeting.
The board’s approval included an invitation to the community to support team fundraising; staff asked donors to send contributions to the school addressed to ROCORI VEX Robotics. The activities director and the coach said the team has raised funds through local business contacts and small fundraisers, and will continue outreach to cover travel costs.
The board’s action clears basic logistics for the trip; staff said a post‑trip presentation will be scheduled to share outcomes and allow the team to display awards if they return with trophies.
