Interim City Administrator Justin Behrens told the council the current lease originally dated to 2013 was last updated three years ago and that the option to extend for another three years remains. He said utilities and certain interior alterations are the tenant’s responsibility while the city remains responsible for major systems such as the roof, water heater and HVAC. The parking lot remains city-owned and the tenant may use up to 10 stalls; the city will continue to use the lot for special events.
Council moved and approved the lease renewal by roll-call vote; the motion carried with nine ayes.
Council documents: staff memo and the draft agreement were included in the meeting packet for review. The lease is set to take effect at the end of the month when the current agreement expires.
