Summary
CCRPC staff reviewed the regional Active Transportation Plan and recent local plans, emphasized the role of public outreach, and reminded communities that the VTrans Bike/Ped Grant Program is accepting applications through July 11, 2025 (webinar and materials available).
Bryan Davis, Senior Transportation Planner at CCRPC, briefed the Transportation Advisory Committee on June 3 about the Regional Active Transportation Plan and recent local walk/bike plans, using Winooski and South Burlington as examples of how outreach shaped recommended networks.
Davis emphasized that public engagement and data-driven analysis informed local recommended networks and that active‑transportation plans help projects advance to scoping or funding stages. He told the committee that the VTrans Bicycle and Pedestrian Grant Program was open and accepting applications until July 11, 2025, and noted a program webinar scheduled for June 3 with slides and recording to be posted on the VTrans Bike/Ped program website.
Davis encouraged jurisdictions to contact CCRPC for grant assistance and for a CCRPC letter of support (bdavis@ccrpcvt.org). Staff provided links to the regional plan and example local plans to help communities prepare grant applications and project proposals. TAC members were invited to ask staff for project‑specific support and questions about timelines or scope when preparing applications.
