Summary
After a presentation from DRCOG programming staff, the Transportation Advisory Committee voted to recommend several 2026–2029 TIP amendments — including new pool projects and funding transfers — to the Regional Transportation Committee. The motion passed by voice vote.
Josh Schwenk, a senior planner on DRCOG's Programming and Project Delivery team, presented proposed amendments to the 2026–2029 Transportation Improvement Program (Attachment B), outlining pool additions, funding rollovers and year shifts.
Schwenk summarized regionally proposed changes including Region 4 adding two new surface‑treatment pool projects accounting for about $11,000,000 in state surface treatment funding, a Region 4 RPP pool addition of about $9,000,000 in state RPP funds, rollover of approximately $15,000,000 in prior‑year funds into the current TIP for the Colorado 119 project plus additional legislative and surface treatment dollars, and multiple federal/state funding additions and transfers to consolidate funding into the I‑270 project.
After the presentation, Kent Mormon moved to "recommend to the Regional Transportation Committee the attached project amendments to the 2026‑2029 TIP." Angie seconded the motion. Chair Justin Schmitz called a voice vote; members signified "aye" and the motion carried with no recorded opposition or abstentions.
"We do have a full list of proposed amendments to the Transportation Improvement Program," Schwenk said during his presentation, and he invited questions; members asked about TIP ID numbering (Schwenk explained IDs reflect the year the project was added to the TIP) and clarification on pool definitions and funding shifts.
The TAC's vote was a recommendation to the Regional Transportation Committee; the meeting did not record individual member roll‑call votes.
