Board reviews March finances, approves hire and specialist contracts
Summary

The Piedmont Community Charter Board reviewed March financials and approved personnel and service contracts at its April 21 meeting.
Treasurer (speaker 5) reported month-to-date March revenue of $2,087,401.77 and expenses of $1,966,619.99, producing a net surplus before investment activity of $120,781.78 and a small deficit (about $32,804.94) after accounting for investments. The treasurer reported operating cash of $3,700,313.87, student-activities funds of $173,979.24 and investments at fair market value of $3,261,770.67, for a reported total cash balance of $7,137,063.78. The treasurer projected cash and investments on hand as of June 30, 2026 at $8,146,007.91 and indicated an expected available cash figure of about $4,884,230 after the amount held in the PNC investment account is excluded.
In the personnel report, the board approved hiring Matthew Glover as a middle-school custodian. The board moved and approved the personnel action by voice vote.
The head of school presented contract renewals for Logan Carter, speech-language pathologist, and Ashley Keyes, school psychologist, at the same rates as the current year. Pediatric Hands On Therapy (occupational therapy) requested a $0.50-per-hour increase over the current contract. A motion to approve the contracts was called and the board approved them by voice vote; no member recorded opposition on the public record.
No compliance submissions to the office of charter schools were reported for the month. Enrollment figures reported by the head of school as of April 14 were 1,934 students overall: 674 elementary, 658 middle and 602 high school.
The board will meet next on May 19; members were reminded of end-of-year events including the last student day (May 20) and graduation (May 22).
