EMMET COUNTY, Iowa — At its July 29 meeting, the Emmet County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted two administrative resolutions addressing intergovernmental representation and a budgetary transfer.
Resolution 25-31 designates the county’s voting representatives to the Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) and affiliated associations. The board named supervisors Jeff Quastad, John Pluth, Lisa Hansen, Tim Schumacher and Todd Glasnapp as the Iowa State Association of County Supervisors representatives. Other designated representatives listed in the resolution included Justin Schultes for the Iowa State Sheriffs’ and Deputies’ Association; Melanie Summers Bauler for the Iowa County Attorneys Association, Inc.; Heidi Goebel for the Iowa State Association of County Auditors; Lisa Rosburg for the County Treasurers Association; Diann Quastad Minion for County Recorders; Walter Davis-Oeth for County Engineers; LuWanda Towell for Assessors (appointed at the July 22 Conference Board meeting); and Travis Sheridan for the Iowa Emergency Management Association. Several association slots were recorded as vacant in the resolution.
The board also passed Resolution 25-32, approving a $17,184 transfer from the General Basic Fund into the Conservation Trust Fund. The minutes state the Conservation Board’s tax asking for Fiscal Year 2025 was $260,000 and that the county’s tax collections did not reach that total; the $17,184 transfer represents the remainder of that tax asking.
Both resolutions were adopted by roll-call vote with all supervisors recorded as voting aye. The minutes instruct the county to forward a copy of Resolution 25-31 to ISAC at the address listed in the resolution.
The minutes also note that LuWanda Towell was appointed Emmet County Assessor at the July 22 Conference Board meeting; the board referenced that appointment while designating the assessor representative.
