The Franklin Park Tree Preservation Commission rescheduled a library presentation for May 16 at 10:00 a.m. and said flyers announcing the event will be posted.
Village Clerk Arellano provided a Spanish translation of the West of Mannheim Residential Area (WMRA) paragraph for inclusion in a planned signboard graphic; the commission discussed expanding explanatory signage throughout downtown Franklin Park to label plantings and increase public awareness. Member Violet Pamintuan specifically suggested placing interpretive signage near planting sites to help spark resident interest.
Member Ramona Michael raised social-media outreach and recalled Trustee Karen Special's earlier suggestion to appoint a designated Tree Board point person for communications; the commission agreed to revisit that proposal at a future meeting.
The Commission approved the Feb. 17, 2026 minutes and adjourned at 6:30 p.m. The commission will continue outreach planning at an upcoming meeting and finalize the library presentation details before May 16.
