Lindenhurst swears in two sergeants, adds a liquor license and approves consent items
Summary
At the Dec. 9 meeting the Village Board swore in Sergeants Bill Splitt and Jim Siefken, approved an additional Class A liquor license for Emily's Pancake House, and passed routine consent items including minutes, the November treasurer's report, bill payments and the 2025 meeting schedule.
Police Chief Tom Jones introduced Officers Bill Splitt and Jim Siefken as the two officers promoted to sergeant; Mayor Dominic Marturano administered the official oath of office during the Dec. 9 Village Board meeting.
During new business, trustees approved Ordinance 24-12-2306 to increase the number of Class A liquor licenses by one to allow Emily's Pancake House (new owners) to continue selling liquor for on-premises consumption. Trustee Dawn Suchy moved the ordinance; Trustee Ron Grace seconded and the measure passed on a 5-0 roll call.
Earlier on the agenda trustees approved routine consent items: minutes from Nov. 25, 2024 (voice vote Aye 5), the November Treasurer's Report showing total funds of $17,614,295.41 (moved by Trustee Pat Dunham, seconded by Trustee Ron Grace; roll call ayes 5), and the first set of December bills totaling $1,612,184.31 for invoices due on or before Dec. 9, 2024 (moved by Trustee Pat Dunham, seconded by Trustee Ron Grace; roll call ayes 5). The board also approved and authorized publication of the regular 2025 Village Board and commission meeting dates (voice vote Aye 5). No public comment or executive session was recorded and the meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
