Lindenhurst approves two Class A-V liquor licenses for Grand Avenue businesses

The Village of Lindenhurst Board of Trustees voted unanimously Nov. 25 to amend Section 111.20 of the village code and add two Class A liquor licenses with video gaming endorsements for businesses on East Grand Avenue.
Trustee Pat Dunham moved to approve Ordinance 24-11-2302, and Trustee Ron Grace seconded. The roll call vote was 6-0 in favor. The ordinance adds licenses for Hitz the Spot at 2050 E. Grand Avenue and Steph’s Place at 1854 E. Grand Avenue.
During the public comment portion of the meeting, Richard Hill, the purchaser of Lucky Penny’s II, introduced himself and outlined plans for that Grand Avenue location. Hill said he intends to update the menu to offer “higher end classy bites” while retaining the current floor plan, and that an expansion to relocate gaming equipment out of sight is a possibility in the future.
The ordinance package and the board’s motion were presented without further amendment. The vote followed motions and the standard roll-call procedure; trustees Pat Dickson, Pat Dunham, Patty Chybowski, Dawn Suchy, Heath Rosten and Ron Grace voted yes.
The approvals clear the way for the named businesses to apply for operational permits and any required endorsements under the village code. The board did not discuss a timetable for license issuance during the meeting.
