Assembly passes multiple consent-calendar bills and ceremonial resolutions; session adjourns

The New York State Assembly cleared a series of consent-calendar bills and ceremonial resolutions during the floor session, advancing its A calendar and adjourning until the next scheduled session day.

On consent the Assembly passed, among others, Bill 2123‑A (Calendar 18), described on the floor as an amendment to the civil service law; sponsor Berger explained his affirmative vote and the clerk announced the result Ayes 143, Noes 0. Other consent-calendar bills with recorded tallies included: the bill read with tally Ayes 146, Noes 1 (calendar action reported on the floor) and bills recorded as Ayes 148/149/150 and no recorded no votes for several items—each was announced and entered into the legislative record by the clerk.

Members made a series of visitor introductions—labor and community delegations, education advocates and environmental group visitors—and the Assembly extended floor privileges to those guests. Majority conference announced it would meet immediately after session. Majority Leader People Stokes moved to adjourn and the House stood adjourned; members will reconvene at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 5.
