A representative of the Green River Chamber of Commerce updated council on recent and planned community events and downtown activity. The chamber said it hosted an April 15 awards luncheon attended by about 94 people, is holding a second leadership roundtable and plans a wastewater treatment facility tour for downtown business leaders.
The chamber representative noted plans for cleanup week May 12–16 and previewed this year’s Riverfest, described in the presentation as the organization’s annual river festival that will include a 10K, 5K and family activities on the event dates the speaker cited as the 14th and 15th. The chamber also described partnerships with local hotels and businesses and suggested council participation in upcoming 'lunch and learn' community panels.
Council members thanked the chamber for the work. No formal council action followed the update; the presentation was informational.
