Staff said the parcel was R-2 before PUD-4 was created in 2020, currently contains a single-family home and is constrained by size within the PUD; the university seeks to sell the property for return to residential use. Staff reported that public services and utilities already serve the site and that the proposed R-2 designation aligns with the city's future land-use map.
There was no public comment on the item. Commissioners moved and seconded the rezoning and the amendment to the overall development plan; both measures passed on roll-call votes.
Next steps: the rezoning recommendation will go to City Council for first and second readings as part of the formal legislative process.
