Williams County parks staff brief approves March financials and $2.6 million in capital adjustments

The Williams County Parks meeting approved the March 17 minutes and March financial report and adopted budget adjustments to cover routine park costs and larger master‑plan capital work.

Jeremy, a Williams County parks staff member, told the board the finance department has moved to a later reconciliation method and that his team had placed the 2025 year‑end report in the meeting packet. He said the parks operating adjustments total about $17,000 for higher electricity and water costs at Cote D'Oreille and a $10,000 maintenance plan for LG Sonic at Epping Springbrook; he also told the board the capital fund adjustments tied to master‑plan projects total about $2,600,000. "The total adjustment amount for that is about 2,600,000," Jeremy said.

The move to approve the regular financials and the budget adjustments passed on roll‑call votes. The board handled the routine approvals in sequence — minutes, financials, then the budget adjustments — and each motion carried unanimously in the roll calls recorded during the meeting.

Board members asked for clarification about the LG Sonic maintenance line. Jeremy acknowledged an omission in an earlier draft of the budget and said the first year of LG Sonic service had been performed at no charge and subsequent years carry a $10,000 maintenance plan, which had not been entered earlier. "That was an error on my part for not adding it to our budget," Jeremy said.

The adjustments are intended to keep capital projects moving on the county parks master plan. Jeremy reminded the group the detailed line items were included in the packet and invited members to review any specific entries. He also noted the county will open its reservation system for the Blacktail campground in the coming weeks, with a target of operations by Memorial Day.

The board scheduled its next meeting for May 19; no further action was taken on additional budget items at this session.
