The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors voted to accept the 2026 comprehensive plan following an update to maps and a recommendation from the planning and zoning board.
A presenter said the plan had "been a long time coming" and noted the county had correspondence on the project dating to 2023. Supervisors discussed logistics for public access and agreed staff would provide copies at the county office and upload a digital version to the county website.
The board set the first reading for March 30 at 9 a.m. and clarified publication and notice procedures, including the requirement that notices be published within a 4–20 day window from publication date. Staff also arranged to make printed copies available on request; costs per-page were discussed as allowable under county policy.
The motion to accept the plan carried by voice vote; staff will post the plan online and make paper copies available for public inspection.
