On Assembly Bill 449, which would allow a second dwelling unit on a parcel that already contains a dwelling unit, Karl Jennrich reported that the Planning & Development Committee expressed reservations and generally favored preserving local control. Jennrich said P&D requested that staff draft a resolution focused on protecting local zoning authority and specifying the districts in which second dwelling units could be permitted, excluding single‑family districts. Robb Jensen said he would gather additional information at an upcoming legislative conference to assess whether the bill is likely to advance in the Assembly.
No formal county action on PFAS distribution or Assembly Bill 449 occurred at the CUW meeting; P&D direction will determine any subsequent county-level resolutions or responses.
