Colton, representing the Economic Development Corporation, briefed commissioners on first-quarter activity and several small-business and workforce initiatives.
Highlights included a closed revolving-loan fund (RLF) loan of $125,000 to a new local business; the EDC’s new small-business grant/loan program seeded with $25,000 that will offer up to $1,000 grants and low-interest loans from $1,000 to $5,000; and a $10,000 EDC contribution to a CDL training program that supported two Adams County students. Colton also described site-development work for an early-stage attraction project and noted 10 companies completing annual tax-abatement compliance forms.
Colton said the EDC will follow up with additional details at a future meeting and encouraged commissioners to refer business questions to the office.
