Parks staff preview spring programs, survey and trails review

Jordan Trumples, speaking for the parks department, updated the board on upcoming recreation and park planning activities.
"For recreation, we just finished off our winter season and now starting to kick off into the spring. We got spring yoga going on right now, which is on Wednesday nights," Trumples said, and added that a doubles pickleball league will start in about two weeks and registrations filled quickly when they opened in February.
Trumples described arts programming: the "empty bowl" season is underway with community glaze nights and participating restaurants supporting the event. The department asked for a $10 donation for soup and bread to benefit Saint Pantries.
On planning and projects, Trumples said staff are updating the interlocal agreement for the skate park and plan to bring that to the board for review in April. A public survey associated with the parks plan is open through March 31; Trumples said the survey had received about "117, 77, sorry" responses as of that morning and the goal is at least 200 responses. An in-person open house is scheduled for May 11, and staff will present a 30% review of the Class(town) Trails project in April as they finalize scope for phase two.
