Marquette County staff presented February financial figures and a year-to-date summary covering state and county maintenance accounts, program line items and fuel usage.
Presenter (Speaker 4) reported that for the month of February the county expended $93,005.10 out of the state RMA and that total expenses for that account for the year were $238,081. Breaking down activity costs, the presenter identified items including patching ($9,700), miscellaneous maintenance ($4,500), water maintenance ($40,600) and roadside brushing ($22,003.75). For county maintenance accounts, the presenter reported $71,840 expended, with winter maintenance just under $80,000; the presenter gave a total expended for the year across county accounts as $275,009.66.
The presenter also reviewed fuel-sold volumes (4,216 gallons for February) and average fuel prices (diesel average reported as $3.12 for the month; year-to-date diesel around $3.006 and unleaded $2.55 per gallon based on the numbers read). The presenter explained comparisons to five-year averages (current year versus 5-year average up 22.12% and versus last year up 4.35%) and noted that construction-related work had increased while winter maintenance decreased relative to the five-year average.
No formal board action was required on the financial report; board members did not request additional follow-up during the meeting.
