Louisa County agrees to pay $2,500 to retain CSN data system for advocates

Louisa County supervisors voted to allocate $2,500 to retain access to the CSN data system used by advocates to collect and submit annual client data required by Iowa code.
A mental-health advocate speaking for local advocates said counties are required by Iowa code to submit specified data annually and that CSN has long been the repository used to validate and automatically send those reports. "Each county is required by Iowa code to submit data to the state each year," the advocate said, urging the county to opt in to CSN so advocates can continue confidential, accurate recordkeeping.
An ISAC representative explained that regions had previously covered CSN costs but that ISAC now charges a flat county fee; the board debated how the state's reorganization shifted costs before approving a motion to fund CSN access. The board treated the payment as a budget amendment and directed staff to process payment and coordinate training for staff who will use the system.
