Amy Doherty, public works business asset senior manager, presented an update on Sequim’s Waterworks rate modeling software on March 9, explaining the software’s side‑by‑side comparison of water and sewer projections versus actuals.
Doherty said the city prepared a voice‑over PowerPoint comparing 2025 actuals with 2026 projections and that the software provides interactive tools for staff and council to test scenarios. She told the council staff will return with another update around June, timed to support 2027 budget modeling.
Council members expressed appreciation for the detailed modeling and the ability to compare projections with actual results. The presentation was informational; no rate changes or formal decisions were made at the meeting.
What’s next: Staff will bring a similar presentation in June to assist budget preparation for 2027.
