Tumwater planning commission notes staff resignation, cancels March 24 meeting

“Erica has resigned… her last day will be tomorrow,” the director (speaker 1) said, noting that Erica’s engagement with the planning commission, council, staff and community will be difficult to replace and that staff will return with a staffing and scheduling update.
Commissioners then handled routine business: vice chair staff (speaker 4) moved to cancel the March 24 meeting because there were no agenda items; Commissioner Kirkpatrick seconded the motion and the commission approved cancellation by voice vote. The commission confirmed the next substantive meeting will be the April 14 public hearing on ordinance O2026-002.
Staff said they will post formal notices regarding the canceled meeting and the scheduled hearing and will return to the commission with the revised ordinance and any clarifications requested tonight.
