Egg Harbor Township’s committee adopted three ordinances on Monday updating code provisions for boards and commissions, affordable housing and development fees and introduced a fourth ordinance to repeal an outdated municipal court article.
Ordinance 5 amends chapter 6 to update membership and alternate-member provisions for the Environmental Commission; there was no public comment and the committee closed the public portion before adopting the ordinance on roll call.
Ordinance 6 updates chapter 57 to set forth regulations for very-low, low- and moderate-income housing in the township consistent with state law and administrative code references cited during the reading. The committee moved and adopted Ordinance 6 after the public portion was closed.
Ordinance 7 amends zoning article provisions to establish standards for the collection, maintenance and expenditure of development fees consistent with the amended Fair Housing Act and the statewide nonresidential development fee act. The committee moved and adopted Ordinance 7 on roll call.
Ordinance 8 was introduced on first reading; it repeals a municipal-court article to align the township code with prior amendments. A public hearing on Ordinance 8 is scheduled for 03/18/2026 at 5:00 p.m.
In related business the committee approved the consent calendar of resolutions (Resolutions 116–128) and authorized payment of bills (Resolution 129) and the payroll for February 2026.
