"You did again receive a clean audit opinion as you typically do," Noel told the council, and she summarized key figures: the general‑fund balance increased by about $165,000; total revenues were up nearly $800,000 owing largely to higher property values; capital outlay spending rose for public‑safety building renovations and purchase of a new ambulance; planning and zoning fund revenues declined by about $81,000 due to fewer permits; the road and bridge fund rose roughly $19,000. Noel also noted a change in governmental accounting related to compensated absences that increased recorded liabilities by about $234,000 because of a new estimating method.
No audit findings or areas for improvement were reported. Vice Mayor Atwater thanked the finance team and the town treasurer for strong pension funding and sound fiscal management.
The council accepted the presentation and had no follow‑up questions; the town will post the audited financial statements and updated organizational chart on the website as work continues on budget preparation.
