Socorro ISD trustees keep higher bar for adding agenda items, set steps to boost community ownership of goals

The decision came during a Lone Star Governance–facilitated workshop where trustees used a 100-point integrity instrument to evaluate board practices. Lone Star coach Ben Mackey framed the trade-offs: lowering the threshold makes it easier to place items on an agenda but also increases staff time preparing for topics that may not advance student outcomes.
