The Land Use and Sustainability Committee voted to recommend confirmation of appointments to the Seattle Design Commission after nominees introduced themselves and answered brief questions.
The clerk read appointments for Phoebe Aaron Bogart and Tatum Lau to serve as commission members, along with reappointments of Kate Clark, Brian Markham and Zubin Rao. Chair Eddie Lynn moved the committee recommendation; a second was recorded and, after roll call, the committee recorded five votes in favor and none opposed.
"The motion carries," Chair Lynn said after the roll call, and the committee's recommendation will be transmitted to the April 7, 2026 full City Council meeting for final confirmation.
Nominees described the commission's focus on the design and neighborhood integration of public facilities; the Seattle Design Commission's executive director noted the body was established in 1968 and has a required professional composition of architects, planners and engineers.
