Planning staff told the council it recommended denial of the proposal while the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval. "Staff recommends denial, planning commission recommends approval," a planning staff member said during the presentation.
During public comment, Jack Finger said the change "throws out the minimum lot sizes," reduces setbacks and waives parking standards, and urged the council to deny the case. The council then recognized the item as within District 1, Councilwoman Kaur was recognized, and a motion and second to approve were offered; the mayor called the vote and stated the motion carries.
