Trustees at the April 2 Fox River Grove meeting directed staff to step up enforcement of special-use conditions at The Castle after Trustee Steve Knar reported chaotic on-street parking tied to a holiday egg hunt and the presence of trailers parked overnight in the outer lot at 1005 Route 22.
Knar said the special use requires event participants to park off site and be shuttled to the venue; he said that did not occur during the recent event, and that trailers occupied the lot overnight in contravention of the conditions. Chief Waitrovich said he observed the activity while on duty. Trustees instructed staff to increase enforcement of the special-use conditions.
Trustee Knar also raised a separate concern that a Hunters Farm resident was inconvenienced by a morning road closure connected to the Redwood construction project on the other side of Route 22. Administrator Soderholm said staff had contacted Redwood and were assured the company would provide advance notice for any future closures. Knar also asked when sewer revenue agreements for accounts outside the corporate limits were last reviewed and requested staff share the contracts with trustees and add the item to a future agenda for discussion.
The board did not record further enforcement actions or timelines during the public minutes; staff follow-up was directed.
