The board also approved three special-use permits recommended by the Plan Commission—Ordinance 24-035 for Pet Paradise (338 Manor Court), Ordinance 24-036 for Funflatables (639 E. Boughton Road, Suite 135) and Ordinance 24-037 for Fire and Ice Sauna (726 E. Boughton Road). The board amended Chapter 12, Article 2, Section 39 of the Village Code (Ordinance 24-038) to extend routine business hours to 5:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. and to allow requests for extended hours to be reviewed directly by the Village Board instead of via a special-use permit process.
Other measures approved included Ordinance 24-040 authorizing a franchise agreement with Zayo Group LLC to install fiber-optic cables in the public way (subject to attorney approval); Ordinance 24-041 amending police-department appointment authority for the Deputy Chief; and Ordinance 24-042 updating police compensation to be 1%–5% above a Commander for applicable positions.
The board approved bills totaling $4,553,285.06 (Payables $2,363,288.45; Prepaids $2,189,996.61). Finance reported May 2024 state income tax receipts of $1,233,439.20 (an 11% increase year-over-year) and April 2024 sales tax receipts of $3,629,287.61 (a 7.4% increase). Roll-call votes on the listed ordinances and resolutions were recorded as five yeas, zero nays, with Trustee Maria A. Zarate absent.
