Scott of the Madison County Road Department summarized the resolution language and said funds will be allocated toward the highest priority roadways identified in the recent county road assessment. A magistrate noted a representative cost example for resurfacing one mile of 16-foot-wide roadway at 1.5 inches — "$89,100 is what that cost is," the magistrate said — and emphasized that the figure does not include base repairs.
Magistrate Don Ashford then listed district projects he expects to receive work this season: Willis Branch (~$98,000), approximately 2,500 feet of Hagen Mill (~$36,000) and a segment of Ross Town Road (about $92,000). Court members urged residents to review the published road list and drive the roads to understand relative need.
The court moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by roll call. The resolution cites compliance with applicable Kentucky Revised Statutes and county purchasing policies and authorizes county staff to execute contracts under the annual bid pricing.
