“Since then, that percentage has eroded over time and we are now looking at approximately 10% or 10¢ on the dollar,” Greg Hansen said, describing the historic state share and current expectations. Hansen said the county would spend a little over $3,000,000 on assessment and taxation and expect to receive about $330,000 from the state if the grant is awarded. He told the board the application must be submitted by May 1.
Commissioners described the CAPA program as an unfunded mandate that strains county general funds and thanked assessor’s office staff for their advocacy. A motion to approve the resolution was moved and seconded and the board recorded passage of Resolution 26‑04.
