The Murray County Board approved a revised job description to retitle the county's HR position as "HR director and deputy administrator," adding strategic duties while retaining the current pay grade and educational requirements.
Staff explained the change is primarily a title and recruitment adjustment to broaden the applicant pool; the position will remain at pay grade 15 and continue to require a four'year degree (master's preferred for an administrator-level appointment). "Assisting the county board and the administrator in the development of vision, goals, objectives'that type of thing'was added to the description," staff said, noting the role will include some coaching duties and production of a countywide newsletter as outreach.
Committee member (S4) moved to approve the job description; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff said, if approved, the county would advertise the position immediately.
Separately, the board approved two seasonal museum hires. The board moved to rehire Lisa Severson as a seasonal museum assistant effective April 28 at seasonal grade 1, step 2 ($15.00 per hour), contingent on satisfactory criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. The board also approved hiring Nancy Moberg as a seasonal museum assistant effective May 24 at seasonal grade 1, step 5 ($16.50 per hour), contingent on the same pre-employment checks.
Both hires were approved by motion and voice vote; staff noted there were some overlapping transcript lines about salary formatting but confirmed the step and pay amounts as presented.
