Sandwich board unanimously approves IHSA renewal, ALOP with KEC, SYTF contract, staffing changes and personnel actions

The board voted unanimously to renew membership with the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) for 2026–27; approve the Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP) partnership with the Kishwaukee Education Consortium (KEC); and approve the SYTF contract as presented. Each of those motions passed on recorded unanimous votes.
Administrators presented staffing requests for next school year that the board approved, including a district‑wide maintenance position, a Middle School Dean, a hall monitor at Sandwich High School and an elementary art teacher. Mr. Kubisak moved to approve the staffing updates and Mr. O'Neil seconded; the motion carried 7–0.
The meeting included a closed session called to address personnel matters, collective bargaining, student discipline and litigation. After returning to open session at 10:21 p.m., the board approved the closed minutes from February 17 and approved a Resolution for Non‑Renewal of a probationary teacher not in her final year of probation, identified in the minutes as Mollie Minard. The board also approved the Personnel Report pending completion of required HR protocols, with employment contingent on documents and checks specified by ISBE rules.
The personnel section of the board packet lists multiple recommended employment actions across certified, non‑certified, extra‑curricular and administrator categories, including a recommended appointment of Lisa Winters as Director of Teaching and Learning at a salary listed as $112,500. Recommended re‑employment and tenure conversions for several probationary teachers are included in the packet and were recorded in the minutes.
