On March 25 the Board of Education unanimously waived the first and second readings and adopted three board policies recommended by PRESS and required by Title I: 4:80 Accounting and Audits (PRESS Correction); 7:180 Prevention of and Response to Bullying, Intimidation, and Harassment (PRESS Correction); and 6:170 Title I Programs. The motion was made by Vice President Thomas Jansen and seconded by Member Gregory Komperda and passed on a roll-call vote.
Following that action the board unanimously adopted the District Parent & Family Engagement Policy and an updated School Parent Compact. Board members discussed the Acceleration Program earlier in the meeting but returned to adopt the policies as presented in enclosure materials.
The board did not add further amendments to the PRESS-recommended corrections at the meeting; the adopted policies will be reflected in the district policy manual and posted in accordance with district procedure.
