Superintendent Roger Stock told trustees at the Dec. 10 organizational meeting that the district's financial audit required additional time because a change in Governmental Accounting Standards delayed the federal portion of the review.
Stock said the district applied for and received an extension from the state, and that the audit must be presented to the board before February. To meet that schedule, the audit committee is expected to convene in January to complete the required review.
No audit findings or dollar amounts were discussed in the meeting transcript; trustees recorded their acceptance of the adjusted schedule and the board approved the audit committee appointment to address timing.
