Trustee Julie Hupp elected Rocklin Unified board president; trustees assigned to committees

Trustee Julie Hupp was elected president of the Rocklin Unified School District Board of Education for 2026 during the board's Dec. 10 organizational meeting.

The presiding trustee moved to appoint Trustee Julie Hupp as the 2026 president; Trustee Derek Counter seconded the motion and the board approved it by roll-call vote, with trustees Tiffany Sadoff, Derek Counter, Julie Hupp, Michelle Sutherland and Michelle Price recorded as voting yes.

Trustee Derek Counter then moved to appoint Trustee Tiffany Sadoff as vice president for 2026. The motion was seconded and approved by roll call. A subsequent motion nominated Michelle Sutherland to serve as clerk; that motion also passed.

The board retained Superintendent Roger Stock as the board secretary for 2026 by unanimous vote "following past practice," and set its regular meetings for either the first or third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the district administration office, with some months potentially holding both meetings as needed.

Trustees also approved a slate of committee representatives to preserve continuity amid ongoing district work. Among the appointments: Tiffany Sadoff and another trustee were approved to continue as the district's representatives to the City of Rockland liaison committee; Derek Counter and Tiffany Sadoff were approved to serve on the student representative subcommittee; and nominees were confirmed for the Facilities Master Plan committee, the labor management steering committee and the district safety committee.

The organizational meeting concluded with the board moving into closed session on items listed on the agenda.
