Board appoints Becky House as executive director of human resources

The Roseville Joint Union High School District board voted 5–0 to appoint Becky House as the district's executive director of human resources after trustees praised her long service and student- and parent-led public comments urging affirmation.

Superintendent Becker introduced the recognition and trustees described House as a candidate who combines professionalism with a personal touch. Trustee comments emphasized her compassion and experience managing school-level human-resources matters; one trustee said, "Her professionalism is of the highest caliber, but it's always coupled with a personal touch" and recommended her appointment.

Public commenters including a representative speaking on behalf of West Park student board representative Niko (who the commenter said represents roughly 2,400 students) read statements thanking House for her work at West Park and urging the board to support her promotion. A community member who identified as a parent and West Park neighbor told the board she had observed "the electricity in the air when you walk on campus" and asked the trustees for an affirmative vote.

Trustee discussion was uniformly supportive. A motion to approve the appointment was made and seconded; the board president called for the vote and announced "motion carries 5–0." The board also offered public recognition to the House family and invited the candidate's supporters to the dais before the vote.

The appointment follows the district's search process for the HR director position and will take effect as the district completes internal transitions announced at the meeting. Trustees said they expect the appointee to continue work on recruitment, retention and districtwide staff support.

The board took the action during its regularly scheduled meeting and noted public comments and staff remarks in support of the appointment prior to the vote.
