Board members asked how short absences should be handled; Dr. Wildey recommended that students absent for a single day ‘‘should expect to take the test on the day they return’’ and that students be allowed at least as many days as they were absent to make up missed work. Trustees also asked for clarity about credit limits and whether Kids' Corner could be used; staff said the attendance‑recovery offering must be taught by credentialed teachers and cannot rely on Kids' Corner staff.
Staff said the attendance‑recovery program is under development and committed to sharing more specifics in future Friday updates once plans and staffing are firmed up. The board agreed to align the AR language with district revisions already adopted in AR 6153.5.
