Superintendent Dr. Serrano showed year-1 outcomes for 2024-25 using a green/yellow/red stoplight system. Highlights included an increase in high-school dual-enrollment participation from 3% to 15.5% and a decline in chronic absenteeism from 12.4% to 9.5% (moving that outcome from red to green). The district also reported that most California Dashboard indicators remain in the top categories and that reserves were updated based on unaudited actuals (year-end reserves were higher than previously estimated).
Board members praised the dual-enrollment and attendance gains, asked staff to share strategies that drove the improvements, and suggested adding leadership-academy outcomes to the scorecard in future iterations. Dr. Serrano said staff will continue data chats with site leaders and return with additional detail on promising practices and resource needs.
No formal action was required; the scorecard will be used as an ongoing accountability and communications tool.
