The Berlin Township School District board recognized several educators at its regular meeting, presenting school-level Educational Support Professional and Teacher of the Year awards.
President Brian opened the segment by inviting applause for the honorees and introducing winners from DDE Middle School and JFK Elementary. He said the awards reflect written comments from students, families and colleagues and described honorees'roles supporting classroom instruction and school community life. "Let's do a round of applause for how great they all are," he said.
From DDE Middle School the board named Miss Boorstrom (transcript spelling varies) as Educational Support Professional of the Year and identified Mary Jo Kolett as the school's Teacher of the Year. At JFK, the board recognized Erica Rosa as the school's ESP of the Year and Lindsay Wanko as Teacher of the Year. The presenters praised recipients for building relationships with students, supporting literacy and integrating social-emotional supports.
Board members and attendees gathered for photos following the presentations. The board noted the awards were drawn from community-submitted comments and said it hoped to recognize more staff in future cycles.
The meeting then moved to the next agenda item.
