Boulder City liquor board approves raffle permit for Community Club’s Doodlebug Bazaar

The Boulder City Business License Liquor Board unanimously approved a special-event gambling permit on Oct. 22 for the Boulder City Community Club to hold a raffle at its annual Doodlebug Bazaar on Dec. 6, 2025.
City staff member Brady Prestwich told the board the club applied to hold a raffle at the Rec Center, plans to sell tickets in advance (including in front of the Boulder Dam Credit Union) and during the event, and estimates prizes to be valued at about $3,000. "All the raffle revenue is donated back to local Boulder City charities and nonprofit organizations," Prestwich said, and recommended the board approve the application based on the city code and a satisfactory application file.
A member of the board moved to approve the permit and the Chair called the motion; the board voted in favor and the motion passed unanimously. The transcript records the passage but does not specify individual vote counts.
The permit allows the Community Club to sell tickets both prior to and during the Doodlebug Bazaar. The staff report noted the club is a qualified Boulder City nonprofit; the board did not raise questions during the meeting.
The board also approved its Oct. 9, 2025 meeting minutes earlier in the session. No public comments were offered during the meeting’s two public comment periods. The meeting was then adjourned.
