During routine reports at the centennial meeting, borough officials provided public-safety statistics and community-service notices.
The mayor reported February public-safety activity: the police department logged 988 calls, 37 investigations, 39 arrests, 29 motor-vehicle crashes and issued 271 motor-vehicle summonses. The fire department handled 105 incidents in February (38 in town, 35 out of town, 32 on the highway) and completed 60 training sessions. EMS responded to 243 calls, including 141 in Bellmawr, 38 in Brooklyn and 33 mutual-aid responses. The mayor said these reports will be posted on the borough website.
Councilman Beider reminded parents that this week is the final registration period for pre-K and kindergarten at Bellmawr Schools and urged anyone who has not registered to do so to guarantee a spot. Councilman Evans reported that about 10 of 30 community-garden plots remain available, thanked Karen Wright of the County Gardener Association and local donors (RPG Rotary, Penny Green and Holcomb Buss) for contributions, and encouraged businesses to sponsor events and parade floats. Councilman Evans also noted the Easter egg hunt schedule and local parade planning.
