Staff emphasized centralized vetting, privacy agreements for vendors (using NCDPI templates), and professional learning for teachers and digital‑learning coaches.
Public commenters and several board members praised the plan’s emphasis on well‑being and consistency but asked for clearer definitions of ‘‘intentional tech use,’’ a parent opt‑out or declination form, stronger vendor auditing and data‑deletion procedures, and explicit metrics for measuring the plan’s impact on student mental health and learning.
Why it matters: The plan affects classroom practice, student privacy, device allocation and vendor contracting across all CHCCS schools; it will guide procurement, training and communications with families.
